A legacy

I'm one million percent sure that one day will come that my eyes will close and never open again. That's the day I will head to a place and wait for God to judge me.
So the one and only legacy I will leave here on this world is to evangelize.
But the most important part of this legacy is to spread the message to my family and friends.


If you are reading this and you probably know me, then let me tell you this:

If one day I'm not here anymore, please carry out the thing I was trying to do; spread the Gospel of Jesus Christ to my family and friends.

purpose; keep feeding your mind with His energy, wisdom and power and don't it get to starvation.

Today I was at my grandmother's house. I had a very nice fellowship with her during breakfast. I suggested to pray together for the food and she said ok. I said that I would pray in dutch. Then she said: 'but God doesn't understand dutch'. That just made my day! That seriously cracked me up. So I explained to her that God made the different languages. And I was still laughing.
My grandmother is so cute. May God really bless her.

Day 38

purpose; open and turn your eyes and mind to God instead of your idol, your work or your own ways of doing things

Today I did my spiritual cleansing with my pastor. As I described it a few posts ago, it's like cleaning up your room. Your mind and body also need a cleaning from time to time. The spiritual cleansing does the cleaning in your mind and soul.
I feel refreshed to the maximum! Now I've got to keep it that way. Time to time I'll have to do this clean up. And I know sometimes the seduction will be too great and I will leave a mess again in my soul. But I know and pray to God that He will have mercy and patience with me, cause I'm just a human.

For this period of 40 days of media fasting, I set the rule of 3 push ups for every cursing word I say. I told myself it will not end this period. I'm going to keep doing this till.. I don't know.. maybe forever.. (=

purpose; be exhausted for God.. be drained by others so they learn from Jesus Christ through you and make sure He is your supply of energy

Ok, today is the day that the big group of media fasting people ended their media fasting period of 40 days. I'm a little bit later done, Saturday 12th to be exact.
Tomorrow I'm going to do the spiritual cleansing, together with my pastor. So tonight I'm going to check the boxes of the checklist my pastor gave me.

purpose; sanctification means a lot than we think.. we have to let every earthly thing go and completely focus on God's plan, ways and purpose.

Today I woke up early to go jogging. It was really nice, cause the sun was shining really bright! (=
When I paused for a moment during the excercise, I looked up the sun and I was thinking; 'God, You're so great! Why are You so great? Because You're so great!'
I smiled inside and I continued my morning excercise.
When I stepped out the shower, I was instantly fresh for the day! Let the search for a internship continues!

Day 35

purpose; we won't get direct answers by praying to God; the purpose of praying is to understand and come closer to Himself.

This is my last week of media fasting. I think this week will be killing. For the most people, media fasting will end at the 9th or 10th of February. Mine will end at the 12th at 2PM.
But.. will everything be the same as it was before? Will I fall back to my old routine? Will I forget everything what God taught me in these 40 days?
I hope and I think not. Not if I keep praying and trusting in Him. Not if I rest on His power.
Something obvious (funny); most people will probably go to Facebook when their media fasting ends. But can you guess where I will go to on the internet when media fasting ends for me? Hahaha, yeahh.. I will go to NBA.com (=

purpose; be ready at any moment to be a sacrifice for God and do His will

These last days I've been a little lost in my environment. I don't know what to do.
I don't know what I can do. Searching for an internship is very hard. Keeping everybody satisfied is also very hard. And I think the coming last week of media fasting will be very tough for some people.
All these aspects.. I need to bring it to God. I need to share it with Him, even if He already knows. He just wants me to bring it to Him and talk to Him about it.
And I will, because; Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives; he who seeks finds; and to him who knocks, the door will be opened. Matthew 7:7

purpose; to serve God to the fullest, we sometimes have to serve others or sacrifice yourself for the work of others

For today I'm going to take time to do the spiritual cleansing- checklist.
Let's see what God reveals to me. Need to get rid off so much things in my life.
Need to cleans my body, mind and soul of those who are against Him. But it's going to be a hard battle. I have to fight those dark aspects, but not on my own.
In the Name of Jesus Christ, I will enter warzone and make war against the three enemies!

Today I met up with my little sister V. I haven't spoken to her for a long time. We met up at KFC and we updated each other about our daily media fasting. I really missed her and our conversations about everything that comes up in us. Especially about God. (=
Suddenly she took out a gift. It was belated christmas gift for me, because we haven't seen each other around Christmas. It was a new Bible!! Exactly what I wanted! A new international version. I really like it! Thanks, sis!
Since I've decided to read the whole Bible in one year, I will read it in this english one.

Day 30

purpose; If God uses us, He will use us on His ways we can't understand.. let it be, cause He knows what's the best

Today we're going to talk about LOVE! What is love? What is true love?
Is love only about friendship? Family? Sex? Husband and wife? Love for your kids? Love for your neighbors?
No it isn't only about that. Real, true love goes deeper than that. True love is about loving the ones who hate you. True love is about loving your enemies. True love is about loving those who are prosecuting you. Love those who want to smack your face. Turn your other cheek and let them smack it again (Luke 6:29).
If you can achieve this level of love, then you're ALMOST about Jesus' level. Cause Jesus loved everyone! Even the ones who prosecuted Him. So how great can love be? How great can God be? Love is God and God is love! So THIS great can He be!

Today I decided I want to read the whole Bible in one year. It sounds very much, but with a Bible reading plan from www.discipleshipjournal.com and guidance from God, I will read the whole Bible in one year. I've printed out a schedulde; it says I have to read passages from two different books each day. I'm very curious if I could make it in one year. But I think with the help of God and some little self discipline, I can read His 66 love letters within 365 days! (=

Day 28

purpose; our main goal is not only to be holy, but believe in redemption and spread that further in the world as a Christian worker who wants to know more about God

Today we had discipleship at my pastor's home. And again she cooked some nice food for us. Thank you, pastor D.
This discipleship was kind of relax. We watched the movie Hachi, a movie about a faithful dog. It had a Christian message in it. It told us that God is faithful and that He would never abandon us. He will always wait for us to come (back) to Him. He even would celebrate it on big ways! Now how cool is that ;)

And oh yeah, the media fasting from 1 to 9 February has started officially today at 12AM! Our church, from the young to the old, are joining the rest of us. This will be a period full of perseverance and more time to spend with loved ones. This can only get better and better!

Today for my service to God, some brothers and I led our group of kids to see the movie Rapunzel. It was an activity to get acquainted with each other, cause the kids were kind of shy. The movie itself was awesome! Definitely a movie worth to watch!

Then we had a meeting about a project we're going to set up. I'm really thankful for the people who joined in. Together we can spread the aspect where our faith is based on: LOVE!

purpose; the best way God speaks to us, is through our circumstances and situations.. only if you leave your 'ignorant me' out of it.

Today was again a usual Saturday for me. After talking with some friends I realize I have some refreshments to do in my life. Have to write down some goals I have to achieve. Speaking of refreshment, I'm still doing that spiritual checklist (scroll back a few posts for more information). That checklist is a pretty hard list. No one said it was going to be easy. But luckily Jesus helps me.
And my other refreshments will start with rebuilding my room (already done it twenty times last year =P). Further I'm going to write down on paper what I'm going to achieve this year. It's time for some spiritual and physical freshness!

Today, I made my (hopefully) last test at school. Now it's time to find me an internship.

Lately I haven't experienced God much, but I know He is working.. all in His time.
I want to pray very hard for a friend of mine. She is very, and I mean, very lost.
She has a lot of problems and she can't stand the evil world.
I want to pray to God, to give her strength, guidance, real love, rest, trust and faith. I wish I could tell her what she is doing wrong, but I can't.. yet. And this is really hurting me. All my questions begin with 'why?'
I can only trust God in this to move her.

Day 24

purpose; this one is almost the same as yesterday.. let the worries over to God, focus on your relationship with Him first

Today I thought a little back in my youth.
I have a broken family, my parents were divorced when I was 14, 15 years old.
Since then my mom named me the man of the house. My father moved and I had to accept the role as the main man to take care of the things in house that my father had to do.
So yeah, I was curious today..
What if my dad didn't left us? Would I have become like I am now? Would I still be the Wai Lam you know now? Or would I be exactly the same? Would I grow up in a family where I didn't have to be the main man in house and would learn nothing?
So many questions came up in my mind.
But there is one thing I am sure off. If I didn't grow up in this broken family, I wouldn't be as tough as I am today. Maybe I wouldn't even be like a big brother, a son, a grandson, a nephew, an uncle like I am now. Maybe I would become a pussy? Hahahhaaha maybe I could.
Anyway, I'm glad that I grew up this way. Even if I like the fact that a family with a dad and mom together is better. I now don't want it any other way. I like this tough life. Cause I have Jesus Christ who is watching over me.
I may lost a dad in my home, but I have a Heavenly One who is teaching me everything I need. I really thank God for that.
And oh yeah, I want to THANK my dad for leaving us.. or I wouldn't be like I am today.
But I HATE the fact he hurt my mom's feelings.. only for that I want to punch him in the face, but that's not how Jesus told me to roll. You're lucky, dad!

These few days I will be busy studying for my last two subjects of school. Then it's time to find myself a internship. My pastor sent me a link to a website of a Christian organization. How cool would it be if I could do my internship and simultaneously work for God. Can't get the idea out of my mind; to think that God is my employer (=

So please pray for me, that God becomes my daily employer. Not only at the internship, but also at school, on the streets, on the basketball court and at work.

Day 22

purpose; don't make room only for God when you expects Him to come.. Give Him the space all the time

Radical.. it is such a heavy word. If you hear that word, it already gives you a extreme feeling. A feeling that someone will do everything to achieve something.. even extreme activities like some terrorists or suicidal extremists
No, my dear readers. Radical (from the roots/ fully) means going 100% for something. But that doesn't mean you have to take extreme measures to achieve something or achieving something on the easy and fast way.
Radical is often described as a negative meaning. But it only means going all the way for something you cherish and believe in. All the way, you will go for it no matter what. Sometimes people will even sacrifice or die for what they believe or stand for. That's ok, but don't involve other's health with it.
The word 'radical' now has a different meaning to me.. and a deeper impact.

I'll pray to the Lord that He may give me the strength and guidance to hold on to Him and be a radical believer.. in His way and in the way that suits me to spread His Word throughout the world. Slow or fast, easy or hard.. all in His time.
